The greatest need we can seek to fill is to provide people access to the Gospel. Cultural, language and geographic barriers are just some of the difficulties that present themselves. The AccessTruth Curriculum, made up of 10 individual modules forms a comprehensive training course. Its goal is to help equip believers to be effective in providing people access to God’s Truth through evangelism and discipleship. The AccessTruth Curriculum makes it easy to be better equipped for teaching the whole narrative of the Bible, for learning about culture and worldview and for planting a church and seeing it grow.
The modules can be used in all areas of discipleship, including one-on-one teaching and bible studies, all the way to cross-cultural missions and church planting. Each module contains tutorials that are presented in PDF and MP3 format and video. Many experienced church planters, Bible translators, pastors and authors have contributed to the creation of this comprehensive training tool kit, helping others to be effective wherever God is calling.
10 core modules within four foundational areas: Biblical Foundations, Communication Foundations, Church Foundations and Contextual Foundations.
Covers the first part of God’s Narrative. Beginning in Genesis, it gives an overview from His Word of His interactions with men and women throughout history, right up to the life of Christ.
Begins by looking back at the Biblical Narrative from Genesis to Christ from a totally new perspective: from the point of view of a new believer. Then the course continues to unpack the narrative of Acts.
Takes a journey through the books of Romans and 1st & 2nd Thesselonians. The course covers them through a narrative framework in the context of the overall story of the Bible.
Starts by focusing on God’s desire to communicate clearly. Then provides an in-depth exploration of culture; what it is, and how we can understand it and finishes by giving an introduction to the major principles of becoming a clear communicator in another culture.
Equips participants in some of the more technical areas of language and linguistics. It gives introductions and practical exercises in areas like phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, language and meaning, semantics, pragmatics and more.
Begins by evaluating and understanding our own worldview. Then it gives a practical guide for culture & language learning, with a cross-cultural learning handbook and practice exercises to do in the community.
Answers the question, do we need a goal when we are involved in church planting and discipleship? It describes four different areas of growth in the Body – Word, Identity, Life and Discipleship – and how to encourage growth in each area.
Covers three areas - an Introduction to Bible translation, then a series on developing a literacy program and finally a guide to developing Bible teaching resources for the church.
Using video interviews and the W.I.L.D framework, Paul Mac and Rich Brown discuss church planting and discipleship in light of real-life church planting efforts from around the world.
This module is an assignment project which has participants reasearch and explore the culture and context they are intending on moving to.
Anyone involved in cross-cultural ministry at home or abroad will find the online tutorials designed by AccessTruth to be biblically based, influenced by the social sciences, and adaptable for any context. This curriculum will help reduce communication noise, bringing clarity to Scripture.
I highly recommend the AccessTruth Resources for anyone wanting to equip themselves for service in evangelism and the local church and especially for those planning to be involved in cross-cultural evangelism and church planting.
As a cross-cultural church planter for many years in South America and Papua New Guinea, I highly recommend the AccessTruth training resources. In any cross-cultural ministry context, our greatest desire is to see that God’s Word is clearly taught and understood such that Truth produces lasting change on a worldview level. In the process of communicating Truth, we trust God with the ministry of the Word as we carefully plant and cultivate a vibrant, contextually relevant church that has the potential to continue growing toward maturity.
We value contributions based on current, relevant experience and have been blessed with a wealth of it to draw on. Our staff are experienced, but we also rely heavily on adjunct contributors to teach in their areas of expertise. Those teaching in each curriculum area are currently working or consulting in that area of expertise.
and discipleship principles
Our driving focus is to equip believers to be a part of reaching the neediest people groups with the clear message of the gospel. We would love to see mature churches functioning in many more of these groups. In that light, we seek to carefully present principles that build toward long term church planting and discipleship objectives.
The curriculum equips people to understand the principles and practice of areas such as culture and language learning, relationship building, literacy work, Bible translation, Bible teaching, discipleship and church health and growth. These principles that are foundational in carefully preparing, and then sharing the Truth also apply to own, increasing multi-cultural communities, as people seek to build meaningful relationships with neighbours and friends from other backgrounds.
Tutorials include questions and activities which encourage participants to put into practice what they're learning.
